Packages

The .deb and .rpm add our package repository, so Omninput updates with the rest of your system.

Package repositories

To add the repository yourself, then install and update with your package manager:

Debian, Ubuntu and their relatives

curl -fsSL https://omninput.app/omninput.gpg | sudo tee /usr/share/keyrings/omninput.gpg > /dev/null
curl -fsSL https://omninput.app/apt/omninput.sources | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omninput.sources > /dev/null
sudo apt update && sudo apt install omninput

Fedora

sudo curl -fsSLo /etc/yum.repos.d/omninput.repo https://omninput.app/rpm/omninput.repo
sudo dnf install omninput

dnf asks once to import the Omninput key; check its fingerprint (below). RHEL, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux 9 need EPEL first: sudo dnf install epel-release.

openSUSE

sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://omninput.app/rpm/omninput.repo
sudo zypper refresh omninput
sudo zypper install omninput

When zypper asks whether to trust the key, answer a (always).

The signing key is “Omninput packages”, fingerprint 3D3B 1600 263B F0DC 9217 F9F5 90A8 1D23 0CC5 BEFC, published at omninput.app/omninput.asc.

The first run

Omninput needs one command, run once, so it can share the keyboard and mouse and talk to the monitor. The setup page shows it with a Copy button; run it in a terminal, then log out and back in. The .deb and .rpm do most of this for you.

Under Wayland, the desktop asks once to let Omninput pass the pointer to another computer (GNOME 45 or later, KDE Plasma 6.1 or later). If you refuse, restart Omninput to be asked again. Under X11 nothing extra is needed.
